About Anesthesia Technology
- Anesthesia technologists are well versed with the pharmacology of anesthetic & nonanesthetic drugs, their preparation, dilution, labeling. They are trained in preparing Anesthesia trolleys checking the machines for suction, gas system operation, working of OT tables, various gases used in OT, inhalational agents usage. They assist with the administration and monitoring of anesthesia and have extensive knowledge of anesthesia techniques, instruments, supplies, and technology.

Eligibility Criteria for Pursuing an Anaesthesia Technology Program
The basic eligibility requirement to pursue Anaesthesia Technology Course at the UG and PG level is
Under-Graduate (UG): To pursue an undergraduate degree in Anaesthesia Technology, one has to complete class X and class XII from a recognised educational board with Biology/Chemistry/Physics as major subjects in class XII, with an aggregate score of at least 50 percent. Some colleges/universities also accept candidates with Botany/Computer Science/Biochemistry/Zoology as major subjects in class XII.
Post-Graduate (PG): To pursue a postgraduate degree in Anaesthesia Technology, the basic eligibility criteria is B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology or MBBS graduate or equivalent degree in a pertinent discipline completed from an approved university, with an aggregate score of at least 55 percent. Other degrees applicable are B.Sc. in Medicine/Ayurveda /Homeopathy/Unani/Physiotherapy/ Nursing from a recognised university or equivalent.
Course Curriculum for Anaesthesia Technology Program
Anaesthesiology/Anaesthetics is the branch of medical science which deals with the utilisation and effects of different kinds of anaesthetics to the human body. This course study facilitates in administering and monitoring the application of anaesthetics at times of surgical operations. This course is offered by many medical colleges/universities/institutions across the nation. The admission to the same is on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the corresponding university or institution which offers the course.
